Posted in Luxury Car on March 21st, 2010 by Editor

For many it may seem difficult for a car manufacturer to claim the mantle of the “Ultimate Driving Machine”, without a truly exhilarating supercar to act as a halo to define the brand.

This could explain why, after earlier reports that he had kept all the plans for a mid-engine supercar, new reports indicate that BMW is running only with the development of the vehicle.

Provisionally named Z10, the latest in engine operation as the last drum Rumormill use of lightweight materials – including carbon fiber, aluminum and magnesium – to keep the weight down while providing more details ‘space inside a Porsche 911.

Posted in Luxury Car on March 18th, 2010 by Editor

We saw two ActiveHybrid BMW X6 Hybrid 2010 “Sports Activity Vehicle” in 2010 and 7 ActiveHybrid sedan. In the third hybrid model of BMW, which refers to several months, will be presented next week at the Motor Show of Geneva.
As a show car, its full name is the BMW 5-Series ActiveHybrid Concept. But it’s really a very thinly disguised 2011 BMW ActiveHybrid 5 of the first hybrid model, the 2010 BMW 5 Series Sedan. It represents a new generation system used in ActiveHybrid 7.

V-8 with six straight
The concept of using the lithium-ion battery (capacity not specified) off the rear axle and a 40 kW (54 hp) electric motor between the engine and eight-speed automatic transmission. The hybrid engine 7 is estimated at only 15 kW (20 hp).
In this case, however, the gasoline engine is a line of bi-turbo six (Travel, without specifying and electricity), rather than the 440-hp twin-turbo V-8 used in the hybrid game of size 7 .

Pure electricity
Unlike the first generation system of the 7 hybrids, the new system allows all electric bass TRIPS on the speed of travel of the city. In most driving, however, simply add a couple to help reduce gasoline engines and fuel it uses.
The engine turns off when the vehicle is detained or subjected to a very light load, to enjoy the race. And the battery is recharged while the excesses and regenerative braking.
BMW cites improved energy efficiency of over 10 per cent of the hybrid 5 series against the non-hybrid in-line six-cylinder.
Electrically accessories including power steering and air conditioning, battery power and keep the car still running when the engine is off. This also allows the driver of the car to say cool, remote control, without starting the engine.

A hybrid future plans
BMW has added a further integration of data from the navigation system in the control software that manages global energy consumption between the engine, motor and battery.
If the chosen route includes a section of road downhill, for example, the system can use battery power more than usual – knowing that receives the charge that the car has passed through this section.
BMW says that this future “function can be extended to any range of electric cars by 30 per cent, although the company did not provide figures on how many might be.
We know that BMW plans to implement fantastic 5 in the series launch hybrid. She said that the hybrid X6 ActiveHybrid “the world’s most powerful” and copy the world’s fastest hybrid sedan hybrid 7.

Hyundai Equus

We have followed the actual improvement with the Korea–only car; Hyundai Equus for quite a while now, & also it isn’t likely to be marketed overseas, we are still thrilled to discover Hyundai competing towards the top level – although just in Korea.

A few leaked pictures of what exactly is presumably the assembly Equus have come up online, which is even more an authentic looker. BMW 760Li

BMW 760Li
BMW 760Li

At first glance, it would appear there is no car in BMW’s lineup less fitting of the “Ultimate Driving Machine” moniker than the roughly 17-foot-long, 2-and-a-half ton, V-12-powered 2010 BMW 760Li (various X SUVs notwithstanding). But after hitting the test track and rolling around L.A.’s mean streets in the top-of-the-heap 7, one thing’s for certain: It’s quite the machine.

In terms of actual driving capability, BMW has clearly infused the latest-generation 7 Series with some voodoo magic, because a car this big has no business running neck-and-neck with the likes of the M5 at the test track. Yet that’s exactly what happened.

The 760Li’s roughly 900-pound weight disadvantage against the M5 is easily offset by the big, twin-turbo 6.0-liter V-12. Codenamed N74, the engine puts out 535 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque though a new ZF eight-speed automatic. Despite the impressive power numbers, this engine is more Rolls-Royce than Lamborghini in its demeanor – fitting, considering that it serves as the base for the Rolls-Royce Ghost’s 6.6-liter mill. Barely audible at idle, the 12-banger moves the big sedan without any fuss or violence, even with the accelerator buried in the floor. But despite its relatively composed demeanor, the 760Li is sport sedan quick — 60 mph arrives in just 4.1 seconds and the quarter mile in 12.4 seconds at 115.5 mph.

The big going power is augmented by big stopping power in the form of 14.7-inch discs up front and 14.6-inch disks at the rear that require only 107 feet to bring this sedan yacht to a complete halt from 60 mph.

Mercedes Benz F800 Style Concept

Mercedes-Benz F800 Style Concept

Mercedes-Benz F800 Style Concept

Despite its name, the most intriguing part of the Mercedes-Benz F800 Style concept isn’t its style at all: the Geneva motor show concept is also an amazing rolling showcase of the German automaker’s future alternative powertrain and convenience technologies. With the possible exception of its sliding rear doors, expect to see many of the gee-whiz gadgets on the F800 on an E- or S-Class sedan in the coming years.

But while most of the future tech will wow you, we think Mercedes has taken some of it a bit too far. Case in point: Traffic Jam Assist. The technology builds on Mercedes’ existing Distronic cruise control system that accelerates and decelerates by itself down to a stop. Traffic Jam Assist can follow vehicles ahead of it even into curves up to 25 mph. Mercedes assures us that the car won’t try to follow other commuters who suddenly make turns off the highway, but we’re still not keen on a system that essentially relieves its driver of the effort required to repeatedly turn a steering wheel. If you don’t have the energy to turn a wheel in stop-and-go traffic and want a Mercedes-Benz, you’d probably be better off hiring a chauffeur. When you eventually reach your destination, if you’re a rear-seat passenger, you’ll exit through one of the F800′s best ideas: rear pivot-and-slide doors. Entry-and-exit through small rear doors on a car with an aggressively sloped roofline can be difficult, but with no B-pillar and these van-style doors, slipping out of the car appears to be much easier. And since the rear sliding doors are suspended from an interior swivel arm, there are no unsightly track marks.

Mercedes says the F800 has a multi-drive platform, which means it can be fitted with either a hydrogen fuel cell or plug-in hybrid system. The fuel cell application, which is essentially the same setup employed on the B-Class F-CELL, produces 136 horsepower and 214 pound-feet of torque in the F800, according to the automaker. In years past, it sometimes helped to fit the fuel cell system to SUVs like a Toyota Highlander or Chevrolet Equinox in order to more easily to store the hydrogen tanks. In the F800, however, all alternative drive system components are hidden in the engine compartment and in gaps within the chassis. In the F800 fuel cell, two of the hydrogen tanks are beneath the rear seats while the other two are in the transmission tunnel between the front and rear passengers. The F800′s lithium-ion battery pack sits beneath the rear seats, though it’s unclear whether that has any effect on trunk capacity.
